Our Journey Together

Sylvia’s Faith was founded by Jon Hammersmark in loving memory of his mother Sylvia Faith Hammersmark— whose strength, love, and unwavering faith carried her through a courageous battle with cancer. During her illness, the community rallied around her and the family, offering the kind of everyday support that helped them focus on what mattered most: being together.

Today, Sylvia’s Faith exists to honor that legacy.

Our Mission

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families affected by cancer with the practical, compassionate support they need to navigate one of life’s hardest journeys. From meal deliveries and transportation to house cleaning, groceries, and emotional connection tools—like livestreaming children’s games back to a parent in treatment—we provide help with the day-to-day, so families can hold on to each other and to hope.

We believe that no family should face cancer alone. At Sylvia’s Faith, we provide meaningful support so families can focus on what truly matters—being together, making memories, and finding strength in one another. Our goal is to ease everyday burdens and remind families that help is here, and hope is never out of reach.
